Time for our Top 10 Exercise Myths! We all know the importance of regular exercise. Another great way is to fit exercises into your daily life, by climbing the stairs rather than taking an elevator, stop further away from a shopping center entrance so you can walk a bit further and if you have a desk job, stretch throughout the day. Sitting the whole day can result in some serious health issues later on in life.

Lastly, it is also very important to improve your diet. Without a healthy diet, your exercise routine can be totally void. Stay away from processed food, sugary drinks, snacks and sweets. Doctors Trying To Debunk Ozone Therapy

Recently there has been an uptake from medical professionals, professors and healthcare bodies trying to debunk ozone therapy.

There can be a lot of reasons for that, but commonly it’s because of a combination of ignorance, fear, and parties within the ozone industry spreading false information and misleading the public. We’ll touch on these points briefly, but our opinion isn’t the be and end all. We only intend to give the public another perspective.

One such time was recently on the South African radio station RSG, with a Professor from Stellenbosch.

Although the professor claims that he is “out of his depth” talking about ozone, he does take a definitive and very specific viewpoint about it. We feel this is unfair towards the public, as he is not speaking from an expert opinion about the matter. We do agree that evidence based / clinical trail methods the medical fraternity is used to is lacking in the industry. Despite this, there are many professionals working towards proving ozone to be beneficial in a tangible way.

We also believe that many medical professionals not embracing new technologies and alternative medicines are witnessing the increase of people opting for it and experiencing positive results. Because of that, they feel threatened by it. The medical profession isn’t always open to new technology. But the fact is, if the industry didn’t change, we’d still be using leeches and bathing in bat guano. In our opinion it’s because people are choosing a more holistic approach to their overall wellness, limiting their reliance on pharmaceuticals.

It’s Not Either-Or: Ozone Therapy Is A Partnership.

We are open to working alongside medical professionals. In fact inform many of our patients and clients to consult and notify their doctors when doing ozone therapy.

Lastly and arguably the most damaging, are other players in this industry. There is definitely a slew of new entrants in the marketplace, many with very little experience dealing with ozone. As most athletes know, you can’t simply decide one day to go and run the Comrades Marathon, skip training, cross your fingers and hope for the best! You have train, train some more, and then train until your muscles start screaming at you in an entirely new language! (But not over-training, of course. That’s a whole other badly peeled banana.)

But all that training has one big, very noticeable side effect… THE PAIN. There will be cramps. There will be muscle aches. Yes, there will definitely be days where you question your sanity.

Now, there are many reasons why you might suffer from muscle aches and cramps. The most common reasons are; over use of a muscle, dehydration, stress, muscle strain, holding a position for a prolonged period of time, inadequate blood supply, vitamin/ mineral deficiency or in severe cases it can be due to an underlying medical condition.

But the worst is the cramps and aches that prevent you from training! So what can you do?

Here are a few home techniques you can try:

  • If muscle spasms persist, it is best to rest the area for a few minutes. Don’t force your body into mobility.
  • Apply an ice pack to the area in question. Keep it iced for a few minutes and then relieve.
  • Gently stretch the muscles. Do not over work them.
  • Do not pick up anything heavy as this can irritate the muscle further.
  • Make sure you get enough calcium, magnesium, iron and potassium in your diet.
