Exercise Myths: Our Top 10 [INFOGRAPHIC]

Time for our Top 10 Exercise Myths! We all know the importance of regular exercise. Getting enough exercise is vital for your overall health and helps improve your blood circulation, prevent obesity and aids in fighting diseases like cold & flu, heart disease, diabetes, stroke, high cholesterol and anxiety & depression to name a few. But there are a few exercise myths you need to watch out for!

So, what counts as exercise? Well, anything that involves movement, sweating and getting your heart rate up. Most prefer going to the gym or joining a boot camp early in the morning, others prefer yoga, pilates or cycling. The most important thing is to find what works for you. For me personally, going to the gym is a tedious and intimidating task. The goal is to find something that you enjoy.

Another great way is to fit exercises into your daily life, by climbing the stairs rather than taking an elevator, stop further away from a shopping center entrance so you can walk a bit further and if you have a desk job, stretch throughout the day. Sitting the whole day can result in some serious health issues later on in life.

It’s Not Just Exercise – Food Matters Too!

Lastly, it is also very important to improve your diet. Without a healthy diet, your exercise routine can be totally void. Stay away from processed food, sugary drinks, snacks and sweets. Add more fresh fruit (not fruit smoothies, fruit smoothies have a very high sugar content) and vegetables to your diet and maybe add a multi-vitamin to your morning routine.

You can also opt for Ozone Therapy to help boost your overall health and to get rid of any side effects of a previous unhealthy lifestyle. One 30 minute Ozone Therapy session in an Ozone Sauna can help burn 500 calories and will help boost your immune system, strengthen the arterial walls, improve blood circulation, remove toxins and impurities in the body and aid in cell restoration.

Doctors Trying To Debunk Ozone Therapy

Recently there has been an uptake from medical professionals, professors and healthcare bodies trying to debunk ozone therapy.

There can be a lot of reasons for that, but commonly it’s because of a combination of ignorance, fear, and parties within the ozone industry spreading false information and misleading the public. We’ll touch on these points briefly, but our opinion isn’t the be and end all. We only intend to give the public another perspective.

One such time was recently on the South African radio station RSG, with a Professor from Stellenbosch.

[Shortened audio clip of interview. In Afrikaans language]

Although the professor claims that he is “out of his depth” talking about ozone, he does take a definitive and very specific viewpoint about it. We feel this is unfair towards the public, as he is not speaking from an expert opinion about the matter. We do agree that evidence based / clinical trail methods the medical fraternity is used to is lacking in the industry. Despite this, there are many professionals working towards proving ozone to be beneficial in a tangible way.

We also believe that many medical professionals not embracing new technologies and alternative medicines are witnessing the increase of people opting for it and experiencing positive results. Because of that, they feel threatened by it. The medical profession isn’t always open to new technology. But the fact is, if the industry didn’t change, we’d still be using leeches and bathing in bat guano. In our opinion it’s because people are choosing a more holistic approach to their overall wellness, limiting their reliance on pharmaceuticals.

It’s Not Either-Or: Ozone Therapy Is A Partnership.

We are open to working alongside medical professionals. In fact inform many of our patients and clients to consult and notify their doctors when doing ozone therapy.

Lastly and arguably the most damaging, are other players in this industry. There is definitely a slew of new entrants in the marketplace, many with very little experience dealing with ozone. Although this is normal in any industry, false statements and empty promises in a relatively new market can be damning. This is even more applicable when dealing with health.

We urge the public to do thorough research on the products, services and companies they deal with in the ozone industry, and not take wild statements to be factual. Remember the old adage, when it sounds too good to be true, it most likely is.
Dealing with a professional company that can assist and advise which (if any) ozone product(s) can be beneficial to your health is extremely important.

If you have any questions please contact us to discuss it further.

[Comrades Training] 80 Days Left to Prepare!

Comrades Training Can Be A Pain!

As most athletes know, you can’t simply decide one day to go and run the Comrades Marathon, skip training, cross your fingers and hope for the best! You have train, train some more, and then train until your muscles start screaming at you in an entirely new language! (But not over-training, of course. That’s a whole other badly peeled banana.)

But all that training has one big, very noticeable side effect… THE PAIN. There will be cramps. There will be muscle aches. Yes, there will definitely be days where you question your sanity.

Training For Comrades the Smart Way.

Now, there are many reasons why you might suffer from muscle aches and cramps. The most common reasons are; over use of a muscle, dehydration, stress, muscle strain, holding a position for a prolonged period of time, inadequate blood supply, vitamin/ mineral deficiency or in severe cases it can be due to an underlying medical condition.

But the worst is the cramps and aches that prevent you from training! So what can you do?

Here are a few home techniques you can try:

  • If muscle spasms persist, it is best to rest the area for a few minutes. Don’t force your body into mobility.
  • Apply an ice pack to the area in question. Keep it iced for a few minutes and then relieve.
  • Gently stretch the muscles. Do not over work them.
  • Do not pick up anything heavy as this can irritate the muscle further.
  • Make sure you get enough calcium, magnesium, iron and potassium in your diet.

You can also opt for Ozone Therapy when experiencing muscle spasms. Ozone therapy is well suited for all types of people especially those who exercise on a regular basis. Ozone therapy breaks up lactic acid, increases cellular respiration in muscles, speeds up recovery of damaged tissue and accelerates growth of muscle, improves blood circulation, fights inflammation, viruses and bacteria and ozone improves vitamin and mineral absorption.

Nature Can Help You Sleep Better

We all know that we have to sleep. If we don’t get enough, we end up cranky, struggle to concentrate, and lose our will to enjoy every day. Did you know that nature can help you sleep better? Not? We’ll get back to that now. First, why is sleep important?

Sleep Keeps You Healthy – Mentally and Physically.

According to the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute, “Sleep plays a vital role in good health and well-being throughout your life. Getting enough quality sleep at the right times can help protect your mental health, physical health, quality of life, and safety.”

The way you feel while you’re awake depends in part on what happens while you’re sleeping. During sleep, your body is working to support healthy brain function and maintain your physical health. In children and teens, sleep also helps support growth and development.

The damage from sleep deficiency can occur in an instant (such as a car crash), or it can harm you over time. For example, ongoing sleep deficiency can raise your risk for some chronic health problems. It also can affect how well you think, react, work, learn, and get along with others.

Sleep plays an important role in your physical health. For example, sleep is involved in healing and repair of your heart and blood vessels. Ongoing sleep deficiency is linked to an increased risk of heart disease, kidney disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, and stroke.

We Don’t Get Enough Sleep

Despite the importance of sleep on our health, millions struggle each night to fall asleep and stay asleep.

There are a number of reasons you might struggle to get enough sleep. Sleep disorders, like insomnia and sleep apnea, affect a large portion of the population. Additionally, there are a number of psychological causes of insufficient sleep, such as anxiety and depression. Lifestyle changes, like poor diet, can also keep you tossing and turning.

Luckily, there are a number of natural sleep remedies that promote healthy sleep without disrupting your scheduling or requiring medication. One such way is placing a sleep-promoting plant in your bedroom.

Several houseplants have been shown to help improve sleep quality, like jasmine, which reduces sleep movement. Others can actually address the root of sleeplessness—like lavender, which helps calm anxiety.

Ozone Therapy to Sleep Better and Fight Insomnia

To help you on your way to a better night’s rest, opt for Ozone Therapy. Ozone Therapy is a completely natural, non-invasive therapy that we can help you with at Organies Genoeg. Ozone improves brain function, boosts the immune system, promotes productivity, fights insomnia, depression, stress and anxiety – allowing you to live, and sleep, better!

Diana Biederman Talks About Ozone Therapy

When it comes to beauty bloggers, Diana Biederman is one of the most widely read bloggers from Florida in the States. And if there’s one thing Diana isn’t afraid of, it’s trying new things. Whether it’s health, beauty, natural, well-known or just downright weird, she’s your explorer. Being the fearless explorer of all things beauty that she is, Diana jumped at the chance to try the HOCATT™ Ozone Therapy machine when a friend invited her.

If you Google the HOCATT™ , you’ll find that wellness centres like Organies Genoeg, offer sessions on the machine. These sessions are to treat various ailments, ranging from athletic injuries to immune-system bolstering for critically ill patients.

So what is HOCATT™ Ozone Therapy, you ask? Well, it’s an acronym for starters: Hyperthermic Ozone Carbonic Acid Transdermal Therapy. In plain English, people-speak, it’s basically a one-person chamber that blasts you with a cray-cray amount of health-restoring ozone. Think of ozone as a super ramped-up form of oxygen. It’s good for us, big-time.

“Going in with an open mind, I wanted to evaluate this strictly as a feel-and-look better treatment. With the exception of mosquito bites covering my body, plus stress from the 17” of rain pummeling my area of SWFL, there wasn’t anything specific plaguing me – at least that I’m aware of,” said Diana.

The HOCATT™ Experience

As we do at Organies Genoeg – and as any centre should – Diana was served ozonated and detoxified water. It’s important to hydrate before your session. That’s because you’re going to be sweating during your
HOCATT™ Ozone Therapy session – A LOT!

Diana very accurately describes the machine as a pod. It fuses steam-delivered ozone with carbonic acid, and whole body hyperthermia therapy from the neck down. Want to spice things up? As to add aromatherapy to the mix with some wonderful essential oils. You also get to experience Photon LED Light therapy: violet (calming), indigo (eyes, ears and nose benefits), blue (fights bacterial infections), green (fights colds, flu) yellow (boosts mental concentration) orange (opens up your respiratory system) and red (rejuvenates).

Be careful when getting in! The doors aren’t for holding on to, but we can help you get settled. And ozonated steam isn’t all you can get with a session! With over 133 various frequency therapies, you can be sure you’ll get a good bang for your buck.

Diana ads,

“She added that ‘Hocatting’ my vajayjay was an option, and I thought, if Gwyneth can steam hers, I will one-up that and ozone mine. [My practitioner] unwrapped a sterile rubber tube from its packaging, which I was instructed to insert about a half-inch inside me. I then placed my feet upon metal electrotherapy slats, and as if holding a jump rope, wrapped my hands around metal frequency generators. [My practitioner] closed the pod and placed a towel around my neck to prevent the steam from escaping. Once I was comfortable, [My practitioner] then placed a nasal cannula (which looked like a headphone) horizontally atop the machine opposite my face to deliver humidified oxygen benefiting my breathing passages.”

Yes, ladies, that is an option!

But What Happened After The HOCATT™ Ozone Therapy?

According to Diana, the 30 minute session flew by. It left her mind focused and her body relaxed, and her skin moisturized. But that’s just part of her experience. Aside from receiving no mosquito bites, despite the fact that she seems to be a mosquito magnet, she continues with this glowing testimonial:

“Reader, I felt amazing. And for the first time in years, slept without my friend Benadryl. I understand why [my friend] purchased one. Reportedly it also burns 600-800 calories per session.”

So are you ready to look and feel great? Book your session now!
