How To Get Rid Of Cellulite Naturally

Every person on earth has cellulite, that’s a no brainer. Getting rid of cellulite is a never ending battle. There are many factors that contribute to producing cellulite in bodies, especially that of women. For some reason people have this misconception that only obese women suffer from cellulite. Well, sorry to burst your bubble, but that’s just plain wrong. Even ladies that are slim and healthy can have this dimpled presence of cellulite in certain parts of their bodies, like the hips, thighs and buttocks. The point is that, whether you are fat or slim, cellulite can appear for various reasons:

  • Total body fat
  • Poor diet
  • Lack of proper exercises
  • Hormone changes
  • Slow metabolism
  • Density and skin pigmentation

There are many ways to get rid of cellulite. Spending thousands of Rands visiting a doctor to do liposuction is one option. Another way would be to buy expensive creams from a pharmacy. Not to mention the lack of proof that they permanently work – if they work at all! But if you are looking for a less expensive and natural way to get rid of cellulite, there are ways to do it.

Here I have 5 inexpensive natural ways to get rid of cellulite for your convenience.

Apple Cider Vinegar Helps Get Rid of Cellulite

Apple cider vinegar is a multi-purposeful solution to make many complicated situations better! It’s been used as a natural remedy for years and can help with everything from weight loss to infections. What makes this even more mind blowing is that apple cider vinegar can be used to get rid of cellulite! It contains potassium, magnesium, minerals, and calcium. And when these chemical components are combined it decreases cellulite, eliminates toxins, and controls excess water around the thighs and stomach. Here’s how:

  • 1-part apple cider vinegar
  • 2-part water
  • Few drops of honey
  • Mix the ingredients and massage the mixture on the areas that are affected. Leave for 30 minutes. Use lukewarm water to wash it off. Continue to do this twice a week until you are satisfied with the result.
exercising and hydration

Hydrate Your Body

One component that can heal many things is water. Remember, cellulite contains toxins and drinking an adequate amount of water per day is enough to flush out toxins from the body, helping to maintain a healthy glow and stronger immune system. Don’t like the taste of water? Use water enhancers to add a bit of flavor to your water.

  • Drink 2 liters, or 8 glasses of water per day.

Moisturizing Your Body Daily

Moisturizing your body on a day to day basis will help to eliminate cellulite from your body, leaving your skin smoother, softer, and better. No matter the time of year or season, one should have the daily habit of moisturizing your body. Rather look for natural lotions instead of chemical infused lotions. The most epic natural moisturizing lotion can be found in coconut oil. This stuff is high in saturated fats, has anti-fungal and antibacterial properties. If done daily after a shower will firm the skin and reduce cellulite.

  • Take a couple of coconut oil drops and rub it on your entire body. Preferably after a shower so that the wetness of the shower will lock in the coconut oil’s moisture in your body.

Shaking the Cellulite: Ten Myths and Facts

Cellulite. It’s the bane of women everywhere. In fact, the jiggles and bumps affect nearly 90% of women – even the fit and slender ones! And yes, even though men and women can end up with the wrinkles of doom, unfortunately we ladies are the unlucky winners of the gender lottery in this particular case. Even worse, we can’t just pretend it never happened and not turn in the ticket. Chances are, if you’re a woman, then you’re going to end up with these pesky dimples at some point in your life.

The Myths and The Facts

Myth #1: Being overweight is the only cause of cellulite

The big misconception is that being fat or overweight is the only and direct cause of cellulite. Yes and no. See, even though cellulite is caused by fatty tissue deep in the skin pushing up against the connective tissues, that doesn’t mean that it’s from surplus fat. It just means that, like most children, the fat in our bodies also do whatever they want. Cellulite can also be caused by:

  • Age
  • Estrogen
  • Family history (thanks mom!)
  • Tissue Inflammation
  • Weight Gain
  • Loss of collagen
  • Poor circulation (women are NOT supposed to cross their legs)
  • Poor lymphatic drainage
  • Thinning skin

Myth #2: Cellulite is unhealthy and/or because I’m out of shape

Nope, just unsightly. It can be frustrating, and not something we like to have, but health wise, it really is just a cosmetic problem. It may be an indicator that something else is wrong, but cellulite itself does not mean you are inherently unhealthy.

It’s a tall tale, and the one most commonly told about cellulite! Now, to be fair, being out of shape can make it more visible. That’s because you have more fat under your skin, which puts more stress on your connective tissue. Believe it or not, even Victoria’s Secret models go for regular treatments, despite working out and eating healthy!

Myth #3: Cosmetic Procedures and/or Over-The-Counter Products Can Cure Cellulite

If only it were so easy. There’s also the whole thing about cellulite being caused by ‘toxins’. These over-the-counter cosmetic products claim to remove these so called ‘impurities’. There are also those ‘skin firming creams’ that claim to reduce it. All these do, as far as science can prove, is temporarily thicken your skin. As much as I hate giving people an out, this is one time you can really, scientifically blame hormones and family genes!

And while we’re on the topic of cosmetic treatments – Liposuction does NOT make cellulite look better. In fact, liposuction can make your cellulite look even WORSE. It makes the distribution of those fat cells even more uneven, making your little wrinkles now look like melting jumping castles. Let’s not mention the fact that it’s going to cost you the very leg you’re trying to ‘cure’.

Myth #4: Cardio, Cardio, Cardio!

Actually, no. Not cardio. If you’re trying to lose weight, and keep it off, then sure. Cardio is absolutely wonderful if that’s your goal. But according to research, it’s strength training that’ll smooth out your skin! They found that adults who did three 30-minute aerobic workouts each week for eight weeks lost four pounds but gained no muscle—and only slightly improved body composition.

When they paired 15 minutes of aerobic activity with 15 minutes of strength training three times a week, however, they lost 10 pounds of fat, added two pounds of muscle, and saw a greater overall improvement in body composition. In other words, they looked better and lost most of the wiggle!

Myth #5: Only dermatologists can treat cellulite

When it comes to cellulite, going to a doctor can actually be more of a con than a pro! Believe it or not, cellulite – like many cosmetic problems – is NOT classified as a medical condition. Basically, this means that spas and treatment centres that don’t have the same limitations as doctors, can offer you a bigger and more effective variety of treatments!

Fact #1: It gets worse with age

Sad, but true. Very few of us want to get older, but it’s just a natural part of life. Unfortunately, so is a decrease in estrogen production, which means poor circulation, collagen production breakdown… Once our bodies reach the point of a factory that’s been age captured, it’s goodbye smooth skin, hello cellulite! Hey, claim it with pride, ladies. Feel free to say that, like male baldness, cellulite is a direct result of your increased wisdom!

Fact #2: Blame the family genes

I’m going to be honest with you. If you’re mother and grandmother had cellulite, you’re probably going to be sailing down the same bumpy ravine. Believe it or not, you can actually buy a genetic test that’ll tell you if you’re at risk of severe cellulite – but it’s definitely not worth its price tag. But don’t give up yet. You can still combat cellulite when it does rear its head!

Fact #3: Certain foods can combat cellulite

Your diet can’t prevent cellulite, just to be clear. But a well-balanced diet can help reduce the appearance of wrinkles. So, can drinking water, eating food with a high water content, and other anti-inflammatory foods. Cucumbers, radishes and many other veggies are a great choice. Fruits, like watermelon, pineapple and grapefruit, are also excellent choices – they are also prebiotic!

Fact #4 – Exercise reduces cellulite

Again, exercise can’t cure cellulite. But, as we mentioned in Cardio, Cardio, Cardio, it can help reduce it. With some strength and toning exercise, you can tighten your skin. This, in turn, will reduce the appearance of cellulite. Yoga routines are also a great choice for those who aren’t too keen on weights!

Fact #5 – Ultrasonic Cavitation is a great option for cellulite reduction

This is a relatively new kid on the cosmetology playground, but a natural leader that everyone wants to meet. The question is, why is ultrasonic cavitation so popular for cellulite treatments? Here’s how it works:

A handle emits ultrasonic waves straight onto the bumpy areas. It liquifies the fat cells, and your body’s lymphatic system gets rid of them naturally. It’s 100% non-invasive and is referred to as one of the only advanced technologies to significantly reduce the appearance of cellulite.

All you need to worry about is drinking lots of water before showing up for your 20 – 60-minute session. Of course, your lifestyle choices will determine whether or not the cellulite makes a horrible comeback. Even so, you’ll definitely see noticeable effects after your sessions!

At Organies Genoeg, we offer ultrasonic cavitation as one of our cellulite reduction therapies. Contact us today to book your session, and finally say goodbye to the bumps and lumps!
